Lunchtime

Your child can either have a school dinner at midday or they can bring a packed lunch.

Our school dinners are provided by an outside catering contractor recommended by the local authority. Meals are prepared at a nearby primary school and transported to us. They are hot meals with a balanced nutritional value. Menus vary daily and are displayed in the dining hall. In most cases, special dietary requirements can be met, although there is no provision for halal meat. There is always a vegetarian option included in the daily meal.

Please ask Glenys, our Administrative Assistant, about the cost of dinners as these are subject to change.

Free school meals are available for those who are eligible. Please speak to Gill if you think this may apply to you.

If you would prefer your child to bring a packed lunch, we ask that you do not include sweets or fizzy drinks. These contain little or no nutritional value, are bad for children’s teeth and can cause upset amongst other children.

It is also important that chewing gum is not brought into school.

And lastly, for health and safety reasons, we have designated St. Anne’s a `nut free’ zone. Please do not send your child in with nuts of any kind.

Further information relating to dinners will be provided at the New Parents Induction Meeting and again when your child starts with us.
