Pupil Support and the Educational Psychology Service

Pupil Support

St. Anne’s has access to specialist input from the Pupil Support Early Years Intervention Team, if required. The aim of this provision is to help raise children’s achievement by developing strategies for supporting children where concern has been expressed by teachers and other professionals in children’s centres, nursery classes and reception classes.

The pupil support practitioner works collaboratively with everyone involved with the child concerned – parents, carers, teachers, nursery officers, SENCOs, headteachers and other professionals – with the school retaining overall responsibility.

Educational Psychology Service

The local authority’s Educational Psychology Service works closely with us here at St. Anne’s. We have a designated educational psychologist assigned to us and she visits on a regular basis to advise staff when they are concerned about how best to help children to make progress.

Our psychologist works closely with us and with parents and carers so that helping children achieve and develop at St. Anne’s is a collaborative approach.
