Governors

The Headteacher is responsible for the day-to-day management of the nursery. However, the Governing Body has the overall responsibility of ensuring its effective and efficient management. Governors have legal duties, powers and responsibilities which include monitoring the delivery of the curriculum, ensuring effective use is made of the budget, maintaining the premises and appointing staff. The Governing Body is required to meet formally each term but, on occasion, may find it necessary to meet on a more frequent basis. In addition, Governors make informal visits to the school to spend time in the classrooms and immerse themselves in the day-to-day life of the nursery.

Parent Governors are your link to the Governing Body. They are there to represent your views and opinions and they have an important role to play in developing and maintaining a firm partnership between parents and the nursery.
